Full Description

1993: A second pit (see GSE 024 for first) exposed by coastal erosion of cliff. Partial(?) excavation followed revealing `an irregular pit approximately 5'9" by 3`8" and the feature terminates at approximately 3`8" down from the present ground surface...' Contents of feature include 865 Med and early PMed(?) sherds (31 part glazed) and 1 Rom sherd, 6 rough bricks, 2 peg tiles, oyster shells and animal bones. Details in (S1). Exact location corrected from TM 537 894 A to TM 5365 8880 after (S2). Also Rom.
