Full Description

Formerly LKH 123 (mislocated).
15 March 1962: "(see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) took me to the field directly N of Allsop's two field, only the drove in between & showed me spot where human skeleton found. Marked on map (R1), also spot sherds (see Rom) found, about 20 yards away... (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s)l" (S1).
Recorded as being found with the sherds of pink (shell) gritted ware (of `three pots') in (S2)(S3)(S4). Findspot cited as (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) in (S1)(S3)(S4) and marked on map by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) in Oct 1989 (S5). Contemporary spot marked on map by Briscoe (R1) and cited by OS (S2) at (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) appears to erroneous. Details of skeletal analysis from Cambridge University with (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s)(S5)(R2).
Findspot of the skeleton in the southern half of the field (i.e. centred at about (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s)) was confirmed by the original finder, (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) has also found, in the same general area a circular, lens-shaped, limestone object which is 36cm in diameter and 11cm thick at the centre. Date uncertain but probably medieval or later (S6).
