Full Description

Three joining fragments from a double-edge sickle blade decorated with two flutings imitating the scimitar blade shape. Badly damaged & twisted. The three fragments have no evidence of deliberate hammer breakage & probably result from having been caught in (agricultural?) machinery, though no recent breaks visible. Surface finds, by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s), from river bank over a number of years. Drawing & details in parish file (S1). A similar(?) sickle with a fluted blade is known from Icklingham (not yet HER'd). Also Rom.
