Full Description

Flat topped `mound', circa 100 feet square, in S end of Pond Wood. Defined on all sides by either stream or ditch, circa 6/7m below with steeply sloping sides. Pond Wood consists of `old coppice (hazel & ash) stumps of larger trees, perhaps oak' (S1). May be site named Oldbury since at least 1420 (see S1).
