Full Description
Metal detector find, within area of undated cropmarks close to trackway, of bronze, circular, seal matrix. Probably C13. Flat with unpierced lug on one side. Inscription reads (translated) "The Seal of Walter Cumun". The arms on a triangular shield appear to be a variant of those of the Comyn Family, Lords of Badenock etc. This family owned land in Great Fakenham in the early C14 and possibly also in Wantisden. Details in (S1).
