Full Description

1996: Sherds from single vessel recovered during evaluation trenching on the interface of the ploughsoil and underlying subsoil. Appeared to be imbedded in clean orange sand indistinguishable from the underlying natural subsoil. Sherds from one side and base of an urn of Ardleigh type. Rest probably truncated by ploughing. Details and illustration in (S1). Also note that fieldwalking survey in 1987 located a single sherd of (hand made?) organic tempered pottery of Preh/IA(?) date and four flakes - see Un. Also a number of undated ditches and gullies, 3 flakes & 1 possible hammerstone - see Un.See S2 for more details.
