Full Description
19? : Fieldwalked by John Newman as part of SE Suffolk survey - details o/s.
1997: Widespread scatter of IA, Rom, Sax & Med (principally Rom) metal detector finds. ?Possibly in redeposited spoil from A12 roadworks at Wickham Market but Rom finds not very characteristic of HCH 001. May also have come from soil from part of A12 to S - sites UFF 005 & 006?, or possibly in situ?
Finds include 2 LIA coins: bronze, slightly dished, diameter 10.5mm, very corroded (?IA)(S1); and broken half of a gold stater, diameter c.20mm, worn. Probably a `Norfolk wolf' type. Similar VA 610-3. Details in (S2).
Also Rom, Sax & Med.
