Full Description

1998: Found by eye, one lid seated Thetford ware sherd of good quality. More Med sherds.
Metal detected copper aloy buckle plate, 3 perforations, one large, two smaller for rivets, one still in place, decorated with two double ring and dot motif within double parallel line border.
Copper alloy buckle plate, one plate only, other broken away through projections, which held buckle hoop, two rivet holes, decorated with raised design, field surrounding design may have been filled with coloured enamel.
Copper alloy belt fitting, a roughly rectangular plate with curve cutout at one end and three rivetholes, plate corroded but lines of possible wiggle work design survive.
Copper alloy harness decoration, ahot spoon shaped hinged tag with forked end folded around iron, pivot pin, a fixed stud arises from the back of broad end, possibly the strap attachment for a horse harness decoration.
Copper alloy thimble, cast, centre of dome plain except for three equidistant punch marks, holes puned in spiral of 16 turns.
Silver penny, late Edward I or II, obv: EdwarangldnshyB; rev: (IVI) TAS/LON/DON. Further details in (S1).
Also Rom and occasaional PMed (not HER'd) finds.
1996: Samian rim, ten rims of Roman greyware, Thetford type rim, 14 rims and four handles of medieval courseware, and one probbale post medieval glazed rim, details in (S2).
Hinged metalwork brooch, D-section concave back bow, two central grooves, 31mm in width, 50mm in length, zoomorphic design, details in (S2).
