Full Description

Three trenches on land adjacent to Langton Green revealed low levels of C16 activity. Green edge location, cottage of probable C16 date to north of trenches. Three ditches and one pit identified as well as a deep feature most likely to be an infilled pond, part of which still survives (S1).

Archaeological Monitoring of footings for three buildings revealed no features of archaeological significance. A layer of Humic silt was observed however is likely a continuation of a backfilled section of the adjacent pond of unknown date. (S2)
