Full Description

17 March 2003: Six evaluation trenches dug, three revealed no archaeological features or material. Trench 4 contained two small shallow pits or postholes, but no dating material was recovered. Trench 5 showed only heavy disturbance and truncation of the ground. Trench 6 revealed the base of PMed flint wall, 0.5m wide, running NE-SW, surrounded by a demolition layer. Three rough courses of flints survived to a height of approximately 0.60m with the wall base resting upon the natural chalk (S1).
