Full Description
June 2004: Area of flint mines identified in forestry compartment 4562. Extent not yet determined. Presumably relating to larger Elms plantation complex to NE (BRD 142, 067, 168, 167, 099). In area of thick bracken growth. Needs surveying in winter (S1).
April 2005: area located more precisely - appears to be bounded on east by large earthwork bank (WNG 036), on N possibly by warren/parish boundary banks (though their presence here hasn't been checked) but undefined to W or S. Rapid examination suggest about 50m E-W and at least 200m N-S. Detailed survey outstanding (Site visit, N. Gibbons & C Pendleton).
