Full Description

Approximate location of possible medieval watermill suggested by "Mill Meadow" field name to north. Exact location unknown but likely to relate to existing road bridge over the Brett (if in original position) and possibly in area of Thatchers retaurant (previously the Kings Head public house and a Listed Building). The existing line of the stream to the north may be the former leat. Re-mapped on HBSMR May 2010 (Colin Pendleton).
Note: suggested as site of the 'winter mill' at Cockfield listed in the Domesday survey (S1, S2).
For other watermills in Cockfield see COK 081 & Misc (Sf 22809 & 22811).
