Full Description
1946: two-thirds of large, circa 60m diameter, ring ditch or circular enclosure crop mark (S1) showing on heathland adjoining wood belt, rest under tree cover.
Similar land use shown on 1880s OS map.
2006: now in arable (?) field.
December 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A possible ring ditch is seen as a cropmark on aerial photographs. The feature most likely relates to an area of vegetation. It has previously been suggested (see above) that the feature relates to a possible circular enclosure, however, the feature is most likely natural in origin.
J.Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 16th December 2019.
