Summary

A large possible ring ditch is visible as cropmark on aerial photographs. The ring ditch has previously been suggested to be a possible circular enclosure, however, the feature most likely relates to a natural feature.

Full Description

1946: two-thirds of large, circa 60m diameter, ring ditch or circular enclosure crop mark (S1) showing on heathland adjoining wood belt, rest under tree cover.
Similar land use shown on 1880s OS map.
2006: now in arable (?) field.

A possible ring ditch is seen as a cropmark on aerial photographs. The feature most likely relates to an area of vegetation. It has previously been suggested (see above) that the feature relates to a possible circular enclosure, however, the feature is most likely natural in origin.
