Full Description
2001: During the monitoring of soil stripping, two small circular pits and one longer elongated pit were excavated. Although they could not be dated, all three contained charcoal and are probably prehistoric in origin (S1).
2002: Subsequent excavation uncovered a group of sixteen pits, six of which were datable to the Early Iron Age, one to the Late Iron Age and one with datable material from both the Early and Late Iron Age. A pair of inverted Early Iron Age pots (one inside the other) were also discovered during the excavation (S2).
