Full Description

Round Barrow. Possible burial: a cremation in a round barrow. "A tumulus, in which a Rom urn was found about 20 years ago, containing ashes, two coins and piece of a sword 3 inches long". (OS map marked 'Rom' urns found 1827) (S1)(S4).
January 1977: Large hole in centre, otherwise very good condition. On heathland - gorse heather and grass. Mound height 1.22m, mound diameter circa 30m (S2).
1981: Barrow still on heathland. Estimate height nearer 4.5 ft. Appears to be traces of slight ditch. Depression approximately 9m x 5m on top. Barrow covered in grass and new heather. Several small paths leading to barrow through surrounding old heather (S3).
1985: Height 4-5 ft, slight traces of ditch. Depression remains in centre. Not sure about ditch (S3).
