Summary

Palaeolithic implements were found in 1919 on this site. Finds of other periods were found by Basil Brown between 1946 and 1951 when pottery was found by workmen digging for gravel in Allen Newport Ltd's pit, on the field known as Hercules Went (or Vent).

Full Description

Pre March 1919, Flakes and Handaxes found on the surface of a levelled pit. Finds of other periods were found by Basil Brown between 1946 and 1951 when pottery was found by workmen digging for gravel in Allen Newport Ltd's pit, on the field known as Hercules Went (or Vent), (S1-S4).
