1983: `A sixth season of excavation by Valerie Fenwick on this 18 ha former island produced further closely-dated MSax contexts. Occupation of the summit occurred during the ? 1984: `A seventh season of excavation on the summit revealed MSax post-in- hole structures. Clay loom weights, as small as 150g, together with iron `dress-makers' pins, needles and a bone bobbin, showed that fine cloth was being woven in the early C9' (S2).
1985: Eighth season. `Further Anglo-Saxon contexts were investigated' (S3). Finds include at least eleven coins, including some of Beonna (S4). Claims shaft furnace for iron ore and `Ipswich ware' kiln (S5).
