Full Description
Autumn 2001: A small quantity of Iron Age sherds were also recovered during fieldwalking and metal detecting (S1).
May 2002: Archaeological evaluation revealed ditches, pits and gullies of Late Iron Age date across the site. The features contained pottery, daub, quernstone fragments and animal bones (S2).
Late 2002-2003: Full excavation revealed dense Late Iron Age occupation on the site, with the construction of a large, right-angled ditched enclosure. Within this enclosure was the remains of ?four roundhouses and a further ?two roundhouses lay downhill to the south in the Road Corridor area.(S3)
