Full Description

Silver gilt pin - overall length 6.4 cm; length of head 1 cm, width of head 0.9 cm. Pin head a gilded ball with raised, braided decoration on 'equator'. Decoration on each hemisphere consists of 3 larger circles of thin twisted wire, each touching the other two, and each containing three smaller, similar circles, with a small raised ball at centre of larger circle, where smaller ones touch. In the space between larger circles and 'equator' is another small circle, surmounted by a boss - one of these circles is missing on upper hemisphere. "N" pole has a larger boss, "S" pole bears pin. One side of head flattened. Pin was much twisted when found, and has been straightened by a jeweller. Found behind Partridge Farm. This pin is probably late Med/early PMed rather than Sax in date according to Margeson on Norwich etc examples (S3).
