Full Description
February 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Beauty National Mapping Programme.
A line of Second World war bomb craters of varying size are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (S1-S5) on land to the south of Dunwich Forest, Westleton. At least two possible gun emplacements are also visible, along with a large possible practice trench, which is visible as an extant earthwork on photographs from 1958 (S6) and Lidar as recently as 2010 (S7).
