Full Description

February 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Beauty National Mapping Programme.
An area of possible World War Two military activity is visible on aerial photographs on an area of land to the south of Dunwich Forest, Westleton. This is principally visible as several parchmarks or areas of disturbed ground in the vicinity of TM 465 706. There are further trackways and earthworks visible to the west of the area, which may perhaps be associated with the deserted medieval village of ‘Bregge’ recorded in the area (SHER WLN 056), although this is highly tentative and has been recorded with a note of caution.
E. Ford (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 11th February 2015.
