Areas of compressed chalk and possible clay floors? Associated pottery: 6 body sherds `poor black fabric', probably Roman, 1 light grey rim sherd C13 type, 1 poor flint scraper (preh)(S1)
This area, at TM 289 529, examined by P Froste who describes posthole(s) and a burnt clay (hearth) area visible after stripping for A12 Wickham Market bypass (S2). May be Med occupation along road, now infilled (UFF 015).
