Late 17th century public house with early 19th century remodelling and later 19th century alterations to the exterior. The interior has been significantly altered and modernized over a long period but particularly in the mid to late 20th century for public house use on the ground floor and ancillary hotel accommodation on the first and attic floors (S1).
