Full Description
August 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A possible enclosure consisting of a bank with a possible exterior ditch, of an unknown date, can be seen as an earthwork on aerial photographs and visualised lidar data (S1-S2). The possible enclosure is a roughly D shape with two possible sections of an exterior ditch on the features northern side. It is possible that this feature may be Roman in date; However, the feature is more likely to be post medieval in date and may relate to a small forestry or plantation enclosure. The enclosure is in close proximity to a Bronze Age Barrow (WSW 013) to the south. The feature is not seen on the Frist Edition Ordnance survey (S3) map but is cut by a forestry trackway, running roughly through the centre of the possible enclosure, which is mapped on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map.
