Full Description

Silver penny of Edward I, Class X. Mint London, 1302-1310. Found on allotment.
Evidence of past cultivation - 30/40mm deep plough scars, NE/SW and NW/SE alignment, below a layer of colluvium. The finds were from this colluvium layer. Some small metalwork finds strap end fragment, small domed stud and small stock bell and some pottery and flints were also recovered (S1). The finds arelikely to be re-deposited and probably come from features indicative of past activity upslope and to the east of the development area (S2).
