Full Description
Small gold penannular ring of the type known as `ring money' (S1) found in 1981 in the Thistley Green area of West Row (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) and now sold to an unknown person. Ring is approximately 1.5cm diameter, 0.5cm thick and weighs 12.8 gms. Slightly tapered form, circular cross section (S2)(S3).
Approx findspot confirmed (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) in 1989 (S4).
Also blade of MBA type double sided knife with rounded tip from same area as ring money (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) - details with CP (S5). Formerly recorded as MNL Misc.
May 1991: Spearhead tip, 30mm long with bent over tip and ?artificially rounded butt, found metal detecting (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) (S6).
1992: Fragment of Preh stone saddle quern found on surface (S6).
1994: Detector finds (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) (no precise locations cited) of part of rapier blade with flat mid rib, 15cms long and part of small `knife' with crude running chevron (?or cross hatched) decoration on flat central mid rib (possibly EBA?). 5.16cm long. Detail & drawing in (S7).
1995: Further find of gold `ring money' (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) metal detected by unnamed person from Mildenhall (S8).
