Full Description
1978: Flint tranchet axe found 1978 in spoil from a telephone pole hole in Glemsford village (S1). The axe is rather thick and stubby, 11.2cm long x 6.2cm wide x 3.8cm thick, unpatinated but with some iron staining on the flake ridge. The blade shows signs of heavy usage but was probably originally tranchet.
