Full Description
Scatter of objects found metal detecting over several years (some material shown to Moyses Hall?) (S1). 52 coins including denarius (plated and centrally pierced) of Nero, denarius of Trajan (AD 110 - 117) and Julia Soaemias (AD 218 - 222), bronze dupondius and C3 - C4, mainly up to 340 but one Valentinian (AD 364 - 378). Several brooches and brooch fragments; a decorated 'knobbed' handle; a mount decorated in late Iron Age style; possible comestic grinder fragment; lead rivet with Samian fragment; bronze pin, awl, fishhook (? date); cut and smoothed oyster shell fragment, two glass beads (one probably Rom, one uncertain).
1993: Area fieldwalked, pottery including C1 and C3-C4 wares and tile fragments (combed box and thick pieces) found in an area circa 120m across, slightly to the S of area marked previously (S2). Previous location probably inaccurate.
