Full Description

Finds scatter produced by fieldwalking and metal detecting. Pottery amounts small but include Hedingham ware and other glazed wares together with some PMed. A large collection of miscellaneous bronze metal work mostly the same date range as pottery (S1).
The finds are roughly central to an enclosure of 1.4 hectares bounded by ditches more substantial than field ditches (R1).
1841 Tithe Map names this `149 The Gardens' with adjoining to E '148 Moat Field'. Suggests this is remains of a moated enclosure.
Marked on map of 1702 as a substantially ditched, roughly rectangular, enclosure and named as `The Moted Garden'. Contained 4 acres (S2).
