Full Description

Polished stone axe. Thin section (Norwich Museum) Camptonite, origin Jersey/ Orkneys, ? glacial erratic. Found on gravel bank of R Stour, by water mill pool, circa 1970 (S1)(R1).
Same (?) as stone axe from `TM 703468', sectioned amphibolite with brown hornblende listed in (S2).

Neolithic axehead found in mill-pond. The axe is made of camptonite, a raw material found in the midlands, and is 10 cm long. The axe is classified as group XIV type.
