Full Description

Surface finds from metal detecting near (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). Coins include two silver denarii (Domitian and Commodus) and bronze coins of Trajan, Marcus Aurelius, Carausius, Allectus, Constantinian, and one possibly AD 378-383. One colchester derivative brooch. Pottery includes Belgic/early Roman, colour coated (Nene Valley), ? Much Hadham, mortarium and grey wares (S1). Further finds include three ?vessel mounts in form of human face, figurine fragment in form of human foot, strap & tag ends, head-stud type brooch, spoon fragment & belt fitting. For details of finds, see (S2). Finds probably fairly broadly scattered over this field but little or no Rom material in field to W (S1).
