Full Description

Metalwork of various periods collected during development of meadow opposite Cross House, included a decorated bronze strap end and a fragment of a silver penny of Burgred (AD 852-874)(S1).
Suggested as possible site of ESax cemetery, recorded in C19 (S2), because owned by Cross House until redevelopment, but examination of deeds suggests that the field owned at that time would be one of those to the W (S3). This is confirmed by the distribution of more recent finds - see IXW 005. Also IA, Rom, Med.
