Monument record MNL 028 - Bronze-Age artefact scatter, including a bronze side looped spearhead, pottery and burnt flint patch. (BA)

Bronze side looped spearhead, 16.3cm long x 2.7cm wide. Found by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) in October - November 1982 on mechanical potato harvester. Findspot (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) approximate only but found about halfway down the length of the field and on the NW side (SE side not cropped at time of find). Lozenge sectioned blade mid-rib. One wing bent at widest point of blade (S2).
Fieldwalking by C Pendleton has produced mass of worked flint, some pottery, both grogged and flint gritted, and various flint and stone artefacts principally of Mes, Neo and EBA date. Also sherd of possible haematite coated pottery (S3).
March 1987 : fieldwalking for Fenland survey revealed mass of worked flint, etc as above and including beaker sherd and barbed and tanged arrowhead at (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). Also burnt flint patch with spread of circa 25m diameter centred at (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). Detailed results not yet available (S4).
