Full Description
Med/PMed ? `465 779. Hill Farm, Wangford. Gravel workings .... when this field was used for gravel extraction, three wells were revealed one of which was unlined and filled with soil, another was lined with reused masonary mortared with shelly crag and this contained many animal bones - two oxen, two horses, 23 dogs of the same breed and one spaniel (?), two foxes and innumerable calves, lambs and pigs. Filled with building debris and sealed with oak timbers. Nearby some remaining traces of flint foundations and broken bricks. One Med bronze pin was recovered above the animal bones' (S1).
