Full Description
Concentrated scatter of artefacts discovered field walking on ploughed field surfaces by Colin Pendleton and Patrick Norman between 1965 and 1987. Finds include pottery, including beaker and collared urn sherds, masses of worked flint, split animal bone, a fragment of human (?) skull, 3 bone awls, 1 antler awl, 2 bone needles, worked bone, burnt flint, plano-convex knives, 13 barbed and tanged arrowheads, 1 hollow based arrowhead, 1 oblique arrowhead, 7 transverse arrowheads, 1 tanged arrowhead, 1 reworked polished flint axe, half of a shaft hole hammer, a flat quern stone, hammer stones and an amber bead (MNL 224)(S1).
Incorporated in this scatter are MNL 024, MNL 032, MNL 036, MNL 040 and MNL 224.
