Full Description

Pest House (site of) (S1).
The town pest house stood on Outney Common N of Bungay. It was pulled down in 1771 and the foundations are still visible (1846) (S2) (quoting (R1)). Seen as a parch mark in 1989, but a resistivity survey in 1995 was inconclusive (S3).

1995: Resistivity survey has shown that there is a probable presence of a building in the area chosen, although the outline was not discovered completely. The survey was hampered by the extremely dry sandy soil (approx area mapped in event)(S4).
