Full Description
1979: `IA pottery' collected by John King. Found in bulldozed areas of heathland, mainly all from a small area but occupation said to be extensive. October 1979: Site visit. `Several more sherds collected from features and dark sand exposed and largely destroyed by bulldozing - all higher areas being stripped down below top of natural sand to fill in peaty hollows in the area. Most sherds found towards the New Cut, one linear feature noticed running approximately E-W with sherds, bones, burnt flint (B)'. `Carrot field to S probably also recently levelled. Remaining heathland to N probably will be soon' (S1).
Note proximity to `Iron Age sherds' - BRD 012.
Formerly in Brandon, now in Lakenheath parish.
