Full Description
Beaker `associated with teeth' (S1) found by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s), in large ditch, on W side of (& parallel to) the New Cut. The base half was found intact in the ditch, with sherds in the ditch edge and in adjoining spoil. The beaker is 16.2 cms high of yellow-grey fabric with some crushed flint filler. Comb decorated by horizontal bands and reversed triangles. The neck is partially missing. Restored by BSEMH (S2).
15 April 1982: Findspot visited by J Plouviez & E Owles. Section examined along 24m section of E face (W face overgrown) of ditch. One possible feature in yellow sand subsoil. No further beaker sherds found but one flint flake from feature and (2 or 3?) further flakes from vicinity of findspot. Section drawing of feature in site file (S3).
Formerly in Brandon, now in Lakenheath parish.
