Full Description

Concentrated scatter of EMed-C14 pottery sherds, probable site of Domesday vill of Bing. Located during fieldwalking for SE Suffolk survey by John Newman, in 180 x 120m area, in "Field 594". Finds listed as 185 sherds Med coarseware (including EMed wares)(S1).
1988: Finds made metal detecting by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) (IMDC) include silver long cross penny of Henry III (1251-1272), moneyer Robert of Canterbury; silver farthing Edward - London mint; silver halfpenny of ?Edward IV (S2). Also Rom & Sax.
