Full Description
A length of anti-tank ditch can be seen running for 1.7km N-S to the north of Reydon Marshes on 1945 aerial photographs (S1). This would have formed part of the World War II defences in this area.
March 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The anti tank ditch described above is visible as an open earthwork ditch with a bank either side on aerial photographs (S2-S3) running for a further 670m to the north-east from St Margaret’s Church Reydon until it reaches the parish border with South Coe in the Smear marshes. It can be seen as a cropmark on later photographs (S4). Sections are visible to the north and have been recorded as SCV 032, WRE 035, BNC 086 and KSS 038. The overall record for the anti tank ditch is SHER REY 099.
