Full Description
April 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
Undated linear field boundaries, a trackway and a possible enclosure are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S4) to the west of Bullion’s Lane, Uggeshall.
Several possible pits were also visible in the field, but since the cropmarks were visible against a background of many geological features the possible pits have not been mapped.
E. Ford (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 10th April 2014.
2025: Geophysical survey identified an agricultural field system with central trackway linking two ring ditches. Whilst they may be round houses, the lack of other settlement activity evidence, such as areas of burning and general background enhancement from habitation effect, it is considered they are more likely to be enclosures for animal management or barrows. The anomalies are likely from the Bronze Age to Romano-British period. (S5)
