Full Description

Hexagonal WWI pillbox, guarding a bridge over the Hundred River.
Near Rushmere, N of 'The Grange' A small type 22 pillbox with large embrasures. It faces N with an unprotected entrance, with a rifle embrasure to the left (S2).

July 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The pillbox described above was visible on aerial photographs (S3-S5), and is likely to have been in use during World War Two.
