Full Description
Cropmark of an irregular enclosure/s, at least two phases, approximately 120m x 50m, joining field boundary. Includes probable ponds and possible sub- divisions (S1). Possible farmstead. On different alignment to existing field system.
Cropmarks of series of ditches, boundaries and a large area of disturbance, which is located where the buildings and farm yard of the former Airing House is visible on 1st Edition OS mapping. The cropmarks of the ditches may be associated with the former house which was still extant on the 2nd edition OS mapping. Other cropmarks include a former field boundary which is also visible on the 1st edition OS mapping. None of the individual buildings or structures of the farm are identifiable on the aerial photograph and some of the ditches are not clearly defined. Helen Saunders (Essex County Council) November 2013. (S2)
