Full Description

Extensive cropmarks of a trackway, round barrows, field boundaries and enclosure of prehistoric date. The trackway is approximately 550m in length. A small rectangular enclosure is visible adjacent to the trackway. To the north of the enclosure a two small (9-11m in diameter) round barrows, one has a south-east facing entrance with a small pit in the middle of the entrance. A further round barrow is visible 160m to the north-west. The area has extensive field boundaries and ditches, some crossing the enclosure and it is likely that these features are a different date. Helen Saunders (Essex County Council), December 2014. (S1)
