Full Description

Two separate phases of undated field boundaries are visible as parchmarks, and later cropmarks, of ditches on aerial photographs, centred on TM 19803710 to the east of Walnut Tree Farm, Chelmondiston parish. The field boundaries consist of linear and curvilinear ditches which may form parts of rectlinear enclosures. The two groups of field boundaries overlap but appear to be unrelated and neither appears to fit into the modern field pattern. (S1) (S2) (S3) (S4)
See SF11537 and XS20053 for adjacent ring ditches.

The cropmarks mapped in 2003 continue to the west, where the two phases of undated field boundaries are visible. Helen Saunders (Essex County Council), March 2015. (S5-S6)
