Monument record HRK 037 - Cropmarks of an incomplete curvilinear enclosure

Irregular enclosure, E of cropmark complex HRK 011, W of field systems HRK 005 and S of enclosure etc., HRK 038. Circa 100m N-S, 50m SW-NE, straight SW edge with entrance, continues into HRK 038. Other edges rounded and irregular with large inwardly facing entrance to E. Transverses smaller, fainter, cropmark of rectilinear enclosure of circa 30m width on S edge (S1).

Cropmarks of an incomplete curvilinear enclosure with an inturned entrance of a prehistoric date, possibly Iron Age. The enclosure is 71m in diameter with a single internal pit visible. The enclosure has an inturned entrance on the eastern side and the south-west side of the enclosure is not visible but is masked by geology and possibly truncated by a farm track. Then enclosure is transected by a field boundary which gives the appearance of a straight edge to the south-west side of the enclosure, but the curvilinear ditch continues on the west side of this field boundary showing the enclosure is curved, but incomplete.
