Full Description

A number of small practice trenches are visible as earthworks c 475m north-east of a World War II date military camp by Foxburrow Wood, on 1945 aerial photographs (S1). There may be more trenches in this field, but it is difficult to be sure from the photographs, as the ground surface has a lot of other marks on it, which could well be other trenches. It is likely that these trenches were practice trenches, possibly associated with the nearby military camp (DUN 057).

January 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The monument polygon has been extended to cover the entire two fields to the north-east of Foxburrow camp (SHER DUN 057) since there are many practice trenches in this area visible on aerial photographs (S2).
E. Ford (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 22nd January 2015.
