Bronze circular brooch, backward looking animal, 9th to 11th Century.

Inhumation (or inhumations?) with glass bead necklace (including `black glass beads') and two bronze finger rings reputedly found during excavation of footings for bungalow, now 68 The Street, by building workers.

Sherds, including colour coated and samian (S1).

Evaluation revealed colluvial deposits of up to 1.1m were present over much of the site, and sealed archaeological deposits in four of the ten excavated trenches.

Monitoring of the footing trenches revealed a single post medieval feature as weel as a small quantity of unstratified Roman pottery.

Evaluation identified widespread ground disturbance in the medieval period thought to be associated with stone quarrying, and pits dating from the 12th to 14th centuries.
