Winter 1986/1987: fieldwalking by John Newman for SE Suffolk survey located Sax & Med pottery scatters, over 30m x 30m area, in "Field 494", adjoining churchyard of old parish church - MTN 010 & Old Church Lane.

Scatter of Thetford type ware pottery found adjacent to church.

Basil Brown gives a sketch map of the site location and adds "Field with many sherds of Late Saxon or Early Medieval pottery, particulars and plan from Mr Beatty.

Thetford ware pottery scatter found whilst fieldwalking. Note: this site(?), & possibly ING 007, bulldozed & metal detected by owners, circa 1980. ' A few coins etc found'.
