December 1986: Scatter of `C12-C14 sherds including Scarborough and Saintonge and local wares', found fieldwalking on field next to H H Cranes Garage (S1).

April 1988: `Small scatter of flint' found fieldwalking "25m east of hedgerow Dans Walk and Glebes" (S1).

Monitoring identified number of Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age pits and a line of post-holes and a Early Iron Age ditch, and an assemblage prehistoric pottery and flint.

Evaluation and monitoring identified medieval features and finds and undated features.

Evaluation ahead of proposed development identified two undated charcoal filled pits and were possibly associated with the former airfield.

April 1988: 12 Med sherds from 10m x 10m area on Bawdsey/Alderton parish boundary at TM 34155 40640 (S1).

Site at crossroads of Kiln and Hundred Lane on parish boundary with Badwell Ash, marked on Basil Brown's map as "Gipsy Burial", but there is no other information to support this (S1).

Evaluation ahead of a proposed car dealership identified single undated charcoal filled pit was identified possibly associated with the former airfield.
